Another day, another artist is putting in work and grinding to create.
A great example of an artist, a musician who does put in work, around the clock, out the mere obsession with their passion for singing, is Raeliss Marrero.
Dimemond is very particular on the quality individuals it vows to work and collaborate with. With that being said, we don't just push arbitrary names. The Dimemond platform and brand simply represents names and stories that are a great representation of an integration of passion, inspiration and the willingness to be apart of this create your own generation, we currently live in. Dimemonds take risk, and are proud of the process; their process.
Raeliss has been in Dimemond Mentality's radar for quite some time now, considering he's collaborated on projects with other Vancity artists such as TWe$T, Swisslizz, ProducedByShah, Crescendo1 and Johnny Black, and also taking part in the new open mic experience that is constantly growing in the Vancouver nightlife, Emotions, it was only a matter of time for Team Dimemond and Raeliss to finally sit down.
Just two months ago, we helped release Raeliss's mixtape, Everybody Knows I'm Dope, which was exclusively produced in collaboration with 2506 Sound. The 5 track mixtape was released off of spontaneity and also just pure ambition to wanting to release sounds to further present a dynamic resume that Raeliss doesn't want to be tied down to one type or categorized tone.
We fast forward to the month of March, and Raeliss, releases yet another project he was been putting in work in for quite some time, Blue Dream.
Blue Dream is a project that continues to present and prove Raeliss's jack of all trades palette as an overall artist. Everything was written by Raeliss, as well as his contribution to the production process for each track.
WELCOME TO THE BLUE DREAM
Our exclusive sit down with Raeliss about the Blue Dream project consists of him sharing each story of the 7 track EP, as they come from a non-fictional journey which is his life and range from relationship success and obstacles, the struggle of becoming of artist in a very filtered world and as well experimenting on various 'types' of beats.
ONE.
BLUE DREAM
Blue Dream is a song Raeliss wrote to further signify the breaking of conformity he has on main stream idea of how music tends to flow.
What you may notice is that the song intentionally doesn't have any verses. What is said in the chorus can sit in with the listeners, and can be reinforced by the instrumental.
It's also the one track that samples Raeliss entering the integration of his vocals on a 'EDM-like' track, which can help diversify not only who listens to the track, but to also for his supporters to understand his appreciation for his art, and demonstrating his dynamic talent.
TWO.
LIT
This is a track for a "good time".
THREE.
I JUST WANNA F*CK
A track that is simply self-explanatory from Raeliss's angle. The song is made to motivate partners to just be honest, and express their natural thoughts, needs, wants, desires.
If you are looking to gain some assistance for your expression to get in the mood, look no further and just play this jam in the background, everything will fall in to place thanks to Raeliss saying it for you!
FOUR.
CONVERSATIONS
Conversations is a great track that can be illustrated as an ode to your ride or die. Any and all relationships that exist, are imperfect. But the best perfected moments is when you have these conversations, positive or negative, but you still hold each other to maintain the foundation that created the quality in the relationship; the quality in your significant other.
FIVE.
FIND MY WAY
This particular track, Raeliss shares and explains his struggles, he's had growing as an artist, and the struggles which still hit him today. Being an independent artist today, we have to be our own biggest critics and also our biggest supporters. It can be difficult maintaining a healthy mindset, while staying confident in your art, and in this case, Raeliss maintaining his confidence and courage continuing chase his music dream.
SIX.
ON A ROLL.
Very similar to Find My Way, On a Roll describes Raeliss's consistent strategy to success. The previous track heavily shares the stories of both negative situations turning into positive ones which heavily effect and affect Raeliss's ambitions. However, On a Roll presents a very consistent positive journey. It describes both his heavy belief that he is on the right track, and still going, but also celebrating what has come thus far.
SEVEN.
SMOKIN'
Smokin' is a freestyle track which Raeliss did in one single take. This particular track was created one spontaneous morning, where he then added background vocals when he decided he want to make this the outro song. This particular song is a vibe to definitely smoke along too, as Raeliss a heavy advocate and believer that the legalization of marijuana should be implemented. In fact, Raeliss suggested this tape be a project to propose it as well.
Big ups to Raeliss. However, we are not done collaborating with this ambitious artist! We'll leave it at that.
