Dimemond Mentality has been an ongoing supporter of the new sound wave of 2506 Sound since the beginning of last year. 2506 was apart of the first year roster of features and collaborations Dimemond had. During this instance, we were able to share the new brand, what it represents, the quality of sound that is created and what to expect from production coming out of the 2506 Sound movement.
Just three months ago we dropped a collaboration project with 2506 Sound, to help introduce their new studio space, 2506 Studio
And here we are again, to further collaborate on another feature: Swisslizz and Tales From 25.
WELCOME TO TALES FROM 25
What does it mean to have 'TALES' to be the core word for the title of Swisslizz's new project?
Tales introduces a new beginning, a new chapter, a new sound. It conceptualizes the process of creating sounds and beats, and brewing in meaningful stories about real life, to create pieces of art.
Tales also creates an energy for the tracks on the EP. Everything is true; non-fiction thoughts, memories, feelings, and ambitions.
By no means does Tales From 25 only include party joints and feel good music (although it all sounds really good, a feel good!), but expresses Swisslizz's journey in love and passion, in all instances of life. Love can be expressed as being a committed, passionate artist, and it can also mean being in love with your art, committed to making moves, and producing quality which makes a name for yourself.
ONE.
STORY: This song reflects what it means to be a ride or die. From reflecting on intimate relationships, having a committed partner to motivate each other, or your squad who has your back and you have theirs when you create goals as a team. This is the first track on the EP as it sets the mood and tone that both Swisslizz and 2506 Sound share and really demonstrate that they are fully committed in their relationships, passions and craft.
VIBE: A joint for a joint. Whether you're laying low with your partner or scheming with your circle.
TWO.
STORY: This significant track is another demonstration of Swisslizz expressing, sharing and venting about his experiences and obstacles of creating himself in the music field, and industry. He becomes raw and honest about what he wants in the game, but also begins to get honest about critics, networks, and other individuals who don't follow about keeping their word. It's definitely a track where Swiss puts his foot down, and declares his confidence.
VIBE: It's a motivative soundtrack to anyone else going through similar obstacles, wanting to either regain their focus level, or a song to introduce the concept of reality when it comes to wanting to be 100% about your passion.
THREE.
STORY: First and foremost, One Time is simply a positive anthem. Swisslizz admits nothing but admiration for the great women in his life, who he has been able to build relationships with, more specifically his circle of friends, who are just simply ambitious women; they aren't filtered, they are just honest within their personality, their beauty and most of all just being real about life.
It also happens to be a great collaboration project with Vancity Prince, both a great friend of Swisslizz and as well as a team member of the 2506 Sound movement. They both found a common ground about positive women, and wanted to embrace that vibe, and create a sound for women.
VIBE: This is a track that motivates women to have fun with. Whether it's getting ready to go out for a girls night, having a chill social at a house party, and even a track that can be played in a club to just embrace beautiful women. This is a track created for women, about women.
FOUR.
STORY: Another Swisslizz produced track for the ladies. Simple. However, this track definitely introduces a new versatility for Swisslizz and the new wave he is introducing into both the 2506 platform, as well as in Vancouver music in general. You got claps, you got references for getting the women to drop it low and you get RawJ throwing down a very South Central fluidity and tone. What's more unique that Swiss could add to the roster for Tales From 25?
VIBE: It's a West Coast Los Angeles wave meeting a Magic City lap dance with The Bay making a beat and flow. When you're feeling like you want to make the ratchet in you arise, look no further, and get lit.
FIVE.
STORY: Swisslizz discussed that Ride is a song which is a heavy reflection of a relationship he had. Its a song relaying a story of being in a committed relationship with one, while also having a side relationship with another girl. It discusses and expresses the obstacles of the reality of relationships, where it is not all rainbows and kisses, and that relationships do begin to disintegrate from being unhealthy, and how it's so easy to live another life, happier with another partner.
This is also collaboration project with another Vancouver based artists, Kenny Gourmet. Gourmet not only worked on this track with Swiss and 2506 Sound, but is also a sound engineer at Blue Light Studios, which hosts 2506 Studio! What is more motivating then to see artists come under one roof to make music together, and bury the selfish attitude of competition? Vancity stand up.
VIBE: This is a vibe that is not meant for the club, but for a personal, intimate space. Considering that Swisslizz's songs on Tales From 25 come from a personal point of view, through experiences, and lifestyle, he hopes that this is a song that listeners can definitely relate to. He made a song where it's simply saying what potential listeners cannot come to grip with, and can easily be a comforter for moments of being human, emotional and realizing imperfections when it comes to relationships.
SIX.
STORY: Believe Me is another intimate track which heavily relates to Swisslizz's experiences and past relationships. It's a song which symbolizes and discusses the foundation of trust between Swisslizz and his significant others. Sometimes a man is only as good as his word, and this is a point of view from a man's mentality in a relationship. There's nothing more but for listeners to let this track flow, and listen to Swiss expressing himself.
VIBE: This song is for a personal space, potentially for even couples to listen and vibe off together. It's also a great track for an individual to turn to for reflecting when going through similar experiences.
SEVEN.
STORY: This song is a collaboration with Raeliss, another Vancouver based artist, making heavy moves within the city, and the message behind Know Better, would NOT have the same tone if both Raeliss and Swiss did not throw down together. It works so well because both Raeliss and Swisslizz create a great communication and tone that sounds unified.
This song expresses the idea of knowing better in all aspects of life; in all aspects and levels of relationships when grinding. It's about sharing the mentality of the process, and understanding the hustle and bustle when it comes to be committed to goals, your passion, and still living life.
VIBE: This particular track serves as a motivational piece. It's a sound for people to mob to it, to be inspired, and also provide strength for people who need that sound to push them. It's a slow motion track, with positive high energy.
Be on the lookout for Swisslizz and 2506 Sound to drop quality visuals for songs off of Tales From 25. Check out a trailer for the tape below:
FIN... FOR NOW
This is only a new chapter for Swisslizz, as well as his team mate ProducedByShah, as they continue to make waves (literally!), with pushing 2506 as the brand of new music, new sound, new teamwork in Vancouver. Considering all of Tales From 25 were produced in-house, artists can become more versatile and be a simple vision of what it means to grow, and Swisslizz simply demonstrates that.

Swisslizz also informed DM that he is planning to not drop one more tape this year, but it could even be as high as two or more! What is sleep? Big ups to the homies at 2506 Sound and Studio for always wanting to work with Dimemond. Dimemond Mentality simply presents quality and nothing less, and this is exactly what Swisslizz and 2506 Sound bring to table.
